Daily Fantasy Golf Picks Strategy | PGA The Players Championship 2018 | Draftkings
It’s strategy time for this weeks tourney, the PGA Players Championship 2018. Draftkings has made some really soft pricing and you can makes all sorts of teams but we’ve decided to stick to what we think will be some pretty chalky teams. Even great players miss the cut at this venue, so its always tough going, but we’re going to stay true to the course manager types here.
Now for the preview cut and paste.
The TPC Sawgrass (Stadium), is a 7,189 yards, par 72 built by the one and only Pete Dye. Even when you hit a good shot here, you just can’t be too sure. There are slopes that can take your balls to the right places, but also to the blue lagoons. The greens are also super fast and you just never know. A great shot just might get unlucky. In a way, this course doesn’t always reward good shots. Having luck on your side is a big part of your week. If you look at the leader boards over the years, it’s the course manger types that do well here. Players that are all around solid players, tee to green type guys, but also accurate off tee and with solid GIR skills. We don’t want guys that need help with scrambling, because you can’t scramble from water. Length isn’t needed here. Avoiding disaster is.
Make no mistake, no one is immune to a missed cut at this venue, as your mistakes can be magnified. A great round can become a disaster quick. This course is about course management, accuracy, ball striking, iron play and greens in regulation. These greens are big, so these guys can hit the greens, two putt, and move on. They avoid disaster.
Now for the breakdown.
Henrik Stenson 100% – He’s the course manager with elite skills, playing tip top golf at the moment with a solid history at this course. His price is a steal. All in.
Francesco Molinari 100% – He’s coming into this tourney playing very solid golf and in his last three tries here, he has three top sevens. We’ll take this momentum and recent course history combo all the way.
Justin Rose 75% – His history does look spotty at this course but he does have a 4th. In reality, you would think a guy with his skill would have a better record here but yet he doesn’t. Hopefully others won’t play him, but his price is nice and he just makes cuts and gets top 10’s in what seems like half his tourneys. We’ll take that.
REMOVED Paul Casey 0% – Everything we said about Rose pretty much applies to Casey. He’s cheap and we think he can win it.
INCREASED Patrick Cantlay 100% – This course should fit him perfectly. He debuted with a 22nd last year and he’s coming off two straight 7th place finishes over the last two weeks on tour. His price is so cheap its a joke so he’s on all squads.
Matt Kuchar 50% – He’s a Pete Dye course kinda guy and he’s playing solid cut making golf on tour right now. A former winner who we think can do it again.
LOWERED Ian Poulter 25% – He’s playing the best golf of his career possibly in this past year and he has a second place finish at this course. We just want to cheer for him.
ADDED Sergio Garcia 75%
