We’re not going to be playing much this week as we’re launching another site next week and we’re super busy getting that prepared for launch day as were throwing a party and things like that. And no one is really drinking at this party because I’ve become pretty lame over the last year in a major way. Now for the course cut and paste.

TPC Potomac is a par 70 so that means two extra par 4s compared to the par-72 courses we see on the PGA Tour. That obviously favours guys that play the par 4s well. The course played host to a Web.com Tour event in 2012 and ’13, and doesn’t look too different from past courses that have hosted this tournament (i.e. Congressional and Robert Trent Jones Golf Club).

So what are we looking for this week? When we look at the past leaderboards from the other courses, a couple of things stick out to us. The truly longest players seemed to always show their names up top for the week, and seems to be a bit of an advantage, but it’s not the be all and end all. Also, the leaderboards over the years also seem to be littered with straight shooting SGTG types. When you get tournaments where it’s hard to score, these type of guys, U.S. Open type of guys seem to find their ways near the top. So we’ll be going with SGTG guys with a lean on some length.

Now for our breakdown

They’re playing a new course and from what we understand, it should play like the other courses that this tourney was previously at. It should be a tough scoring course which has a premium on keeping the ball in the fairway and on the greens. We pretty much went with guys that are having pretty consistent years that fall within those categories or they are finally hitting a hot streak right now and fall into these categories.
