Daily Fantasy Golf Picks Preview | The Northern Trust PGA 2018 | Fedex Cup
It’s time for the Northern Trust and first round of the Fed Ex Cup. Everyone is excited to get down to the nitty gritty and hopefully a Tiger Woods win in the homestretch here. But first we have to discuss this golf course and how strange it actually is.
The Ridgewood Country Club is the host after a four year hiatus as being the host of The Barclays, and it’s a most interesting three 9-hole courses. The PGA will be choosing their favourite routing of 18 for this years version which is different from previous versions too. The routing will offer the first seven holes from the East Course, mix in five from the Center (Nos. 2-6), and conclude with six from the West (Nos. 4-9). This will all total a 7,385-yard, par-71 test of golf when all is said and done.
If there’s one thing we took notice of from previous leaderboards, it’s that length doesn’t matter much at this course and you had all types of golfers competing. Names that popped up near the top on more than one occasion were: Matt Kuchar, Kevin Streelman, Martin Laird, Jason Day, Jim Furyk, Stuart Appleby, and Paul Casey.
It’s a real mixture of different game types with some being ball strikers and others being great putters. However, we’ll stick to SGTG type players here but with an emphasis on the shorter hitters based on course history. As always we like form and putters too.
Good luck after this short and crappy preview.
