Daily Fantasy Golf Picks Preview | PGA WGC HSBC Champions 2017

We love the China. Everything about the China is amazing. We love their faulty accounting. We love their international spies. We love their child workers. We love their fancy hotels with brothels inside. We love their human rights violations. We love their massive cities that no one lives in, even though they have infrastructure for 300,000 people. We love their shrinking growth rates. We love their friendship with Russia. We also love the WGC HSBC Champions from Sheshan!!!!!

The HSBC Champions is in its 13th year and it’s Ninth as a World Golf Championships event.  Sheshan International GC (West), 7,300 yards, par 72. Set amid 1,000-year-old gingko trees, manmade waterways and a natural quarry. Sheshan International opened in 2004 as the Shanghai region’s first golf club and remains one of its most exclusive. Tiger Woods once called the layout “the crowning jewel of all of Asian golf.” To create the layout’s drastic elevation changes, work crews reportedly moved more than 2 million cubic yards of earth. WOW! Impressive. That was sarcasm. When you need to explain your own joke, that means it sucked.

Every Par 3 on this course is 200 yards plus. Two of the Par 5’s are reachable in two by most of the field, while very few can reach all 4. That’s 6-8 200 yard second shots. With a couple of Par 4’s that involve 175 plus yard second shots as well, this course really favours some players that can hit long irons. On top of that, there are a bunch of dog legs, so their needs to be strategic shots from the tee too.

We’re going to lean on strong long iron players, who can play from the sand at all distances(there are tons of bunkers on this course), and players that can scramble seem to do well here too. You also want to avoid the water here as it can become an issue for players that aren’t in command of their swings. We see no advantage to being long here. All types of golfers have won over this course. All you want is opportunities. As always, we like form and top putters.

Good luck to all.
