Daily Fantasy Golf Picks Preview | PGA OHL Classic At Mayakoba 2017

There will still be no stat tracker this week. That’s a major blow to our entertainment dollar. Major. Unless we’re wrong, which rarely happens, but we hope we are. We can hope, can’t we? I hope for a lot of things, but none of them ever actually happen. Maybe because hopes are dreams not set into motion, and without hard work, they’re just thoughts in your head. Man, we’re so lazy, but not lazy enough to do some preview research for you.

The course, El Camaleon (which will be my new wrestling name) is a 6,987 par 71 layout, meaning it is extremely short. It’s super short. There are things called Mangroves, there are canals, and there’s some sand too. Because of all these things, your drives can’t be heavily wayward. They can be slightly off course, but if you go to far, you’ll be in penalty territory.  It’s also a seaside course and many of the players that play well here, also seem to play well at other seaside Tournaments, like the Sony Open and the RBC Heritage. Of players playing here this week, some that show up in at least 2 of the 3 tournaments are: Jason Bohn, Jerry Kelly, Rory Sabbatini, Stewart Cink, Charley Hoffman, Matt Kuchar, Brian Gay, Boo Weekely, Jason Bohn, Harris English, Brian Davis, Tim Clark, and Charles Howell 3.

As you’ll notice with the group from above. most are accuracy from the tee types that have a high GIR. FYI, that’s not Ball Striking, as Ball Striking includes distance in the equation. You’ll still notice that Ball Strikers do well here, however, and we’d suggest to select course thinkers rather than bombers. Also, we like Tee to Green types, history, form, and of course, solid putters.

Another note, the greens on this course are Sea Isle Paspalum. It’s similar to Bermuda, but slower. Other tournaments with this type of grass are the CIMB Classic and Puerto Rico Open. So take a look at the players that putted well there as well. Good luck this week.
