Daily Fantasy Golf Draftkings Picks Strategy | PGA Genesis Open 2019 UPDATED

Daily Fantasy Golf Draftkings Picks Strategy | PGA Genesis Open 2019

It’s time for the PGA Genesis Open 2019 at the prestigious Riviera Golf & Country Club. The course is a par 71, 7,279 yards  with Poa Annua greens and Kikuyu Grass fairways. The course record for competitive play is 61, which is 10 under par, shot by Ted Tryba in 1999. The course record for the lowest nine holes was 28 (seven under par on the front nine), shot by Andrew Macgee in the 1991 L.A. Open.

When looking at the winning scores over the years, they range from  -7 all the way to -19. That’s a huge swing. For the most part, Par 5 scoring is a huge deal here, and for the winner, it usually comprises at least half their final score. You don’t need to be long to win here though, as it’s more of a shot makers kind of course. Being able to bend shots comes in handy and if you miss the greens, miss them in the right spots. Since the greens are small, players will also be missing more greens too, so being a solid scrambler from 20 yards in is also a big deal here as these greens are fast.

If you look at the players that have won here over the years, the first thing that comes to mind is The Master’s, with the like of Fred Couples, Mike Weir, Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Craig Stadler, Nick Faldo, and Adam Scott all winning here. So we’ll be looking at Master’s type players this week, and one that can also putt on Poa Annua greens.

Now for the breakdown.

REMOVED Xander Schauffele 0% – He’s playing tremendous golf and we like that he was 9th here last year. He also made the cut at the Master’s in his first try, so we feel confident that he can earn his keep at his price discount. He’s 7th in the world and his salary isn’t showing it. We’ll take him as a value play this week. A shot maker when he’s on.

LOWERED Keegan Bradley 25% – He’s made 5 of 8 cuts at this tourney with a 2nd and 4th as his highs. He’s also made 4 of his 5 Masters cuts too. He’s playing solid cut making golf and hopefully he can drop a few putts tis week to contend. A cheap cut maker with upside.

INCREASED Sergio Garcia 100% – His price was way too cheap to pass up. He was disqualified last week due to his behaviour but we don’t think it’s something to worry about. He was third at the Dubai so he’s form. Two fourth place finishes over this course and a Masters winner. He’s on the squad.

REMOVED J.B. Holmes 0% – His record here in solid with 11 of 12 cuts made and six top 12’s. His year has been iffy, but we’ll take the shot that he can bounce back at a place the suits his eye.

INCREASED Patrick Cantlay 75% – He was 4th here a year ago and he’s in a very nice price range.  Hopefully people won’t take him due to missing the cut at the Farmers, but he was lights out before that and we’re sticking with him.

J.T Poston 50% – A cheap option that could be low owned. He’s quietly playing very solid gold since the winter season started and you should take notice with his 26th, 40th, 7th, and 20th in his last four. Last year, he was 17th over this terrain in his first try, plus he can scramble around within 10 yards of the greens.

LOWERED Cameron Smith 25% Has a 6th over this course and has a 5th at the Masters. He’s been playing terrific golf over the last year and we think he’s a nice dark horse this week. We like Aussies on Poa Greens.

REMOVED Tommy Fleetwood

Jordan Spieth

INCREASED Tony Finau 100%

Tyrell Hatton

REMOVED Brendan Grace
